How far away is Glengariff Historic Estate? We are located directly across the road from Glengariff's back gate. Most of our guests who are attending weddings or functions, choose to walk. It is an easy 1 minute walk!
What do I need to bring? All of our dwellings are fully self-contained. They include: Kitchenette: includes all crockery, cutlery, glasses, cooking utensils, kettle, electric frypan, microwave as well as cling wrap, paper towels, cooking oil, salt/pepper and a small assortment of coffee and tea. Grill: You will find a George Foreman indoor/outdoor grill in the room, and all your grill tools including tongs and spatulas are also provided. Laundry: The cottages also come equipped with a washing machine, dryer, laundry tub, iron and ironing board. Bathroom: For your use, bathroom extras include, 2 bath towels, a hand towel, a bath mat, 2 washers, 2 rolls of toilet paper, a small shampoo, conditioner, sewing kit, 2 small soaps, a hairdryer and well lit mirrors. Electronics: Reverse cycle air conditioning, flat screen lcd tv and dvd player. Comfort: King size beds, European pillows, quality linen, warm quilts, 4 pillows, an extra blanket and 2 bath robes. Parking: All cottages are allocated one carport space each, with 2 of our cottages, Montana and Vista having direct access from the carport to the front door.
Do you allow children or pets? Yes we can accommodate children in all our cottages, however we cannot accept pets.
What is the difference between a Valley View Cottage and the Garden Cottage? The Valley Views Cottages (Montana, Vista, Valle and Arbol) are all pole style, have king sized beds and are located together. Our Garden Cottage (Pequena) is tucked away behind our manager's house, is low-set and has a queen sized bed and a carpeted floor. All other facilities are identical. All cottages have beautiful views over the valley!
Can I get an early check-in? Check-in is 2pm. We will gladly offer our guests an early check-in (from 12 pm) if the cottage is clean and available, which will attract a $25 surcharge. We cannot, however guarantee any early check-ins. If you are wanting to check availability, then it is best to call a few days prior to arrival to see if an early check-in is possible. If you are pressed for time we always recommend booking the night before so you can relax in the morning before any events!
Do you allow smoking on the property? In general our property is a smoke-free zone. All of our cottages are non-smoking. We kindly ask that if you really feel the need to smoke you do so in our little open hut (the Pizza Yurt) located just across from the cottages driveway. There is an ashtray provided at this location to dispose of butts.
Can a friend stay over in our cottage? Yes we can now accommodate a third person in our cottages. Please note this is a single roll-away bed and will incur a charge of $50 extra per night.
I can't get there until 10pm to check-in, what should I do? That's ok! As long as you let us know, we will give you directions, arrange to leave the key somewhere and have the cottage lights on for you.
Where is the nearest shop, can I walk? The nearest shopping is 3.6 kilometers away in Dayboro, whilst it doesn't sound far, it is quite a windy, narrow road with no proper footpath, so walking is not recommended! There you will find an IGA, butcher, chemist, bakery, information centre, post office, takeaway, restaurant, a pub and a few other specialty shops and cafes. Most guests choose to stock up for their stay and cook on the grills!
What is your cancellation policy? Cancellation Policy: Please note our cancellation policy is 30 days. If your booking is cancelled less than 30 days prior to your arrival date, we are unfortunately unable to offer a refund. For stays longer than 7 days we require 60 days. Any cancellation prior to 30 days will incur a fee which amounts to 15% of your booking total. COVID-19 Cancellation Policy: The above cancellation policy remains applicable, except in the event of a Government mandated lock-down preventing travel to the Cottages.
